Storm-chaser Matt Stansfield, 32, could not believe his eyes when the rare cloud formation he had been hunting for years appeared right outside his bedroom window.
Professional photographer Mr Stansfield devotes most of his spare time to photographing weather.
He has captured photographs of lightning, blizzards and all forms of bad weather, but his favourite cloud formation, the funnel cloud, had always alluded him.
But on Tuesday, Mr Stansfield finally managed to spot and get pictures of one.
Mr Stansfield, from Saltash, Cornwall, said: “I’ve always wanted to see one, whenever there’s weather I get in the car and drive to capture the storms.
“To get this out the window at home is quite a surprise, it’s not what you expect to see, especially in your home town. They are quite rare.”
